I went for lunch with a good friend of mine. RESERVATIONS IS A MUST since the place is usually super packed.
I wanted something light since I had a heavy breakfast, so I had 2 different kinds of oysters ($4.50 each) and steamed broccolini with sugarsnap peas and chilli ($9). Definitely not enough to fill you up for lunch but I was not that hungry at that time so it was okay for me.
There are three different oyster variations on the menu: Shallot with red wine vinaigrette/natural; Ginger, rice wine and chilli; and wood roasted with crumbs and mayonnaise. I had the last two choices. THEY WERE SO FRESH AND DELICIOUS. I preferred the ginger and chilli one; it was a little bit spicy but zesty and flavour packed. The latter was also good, with the toasty crumbs and the creamy mayonnaise. The oysters were so delicious and fresh.
The broccolini was okay. It was a bit oily, I presume the greens being tossed with chilli oil and chopped fresh chills after being steamed. But it lacked seasoning. I like my greens to be simple and usually simple seasoning is good enough, but I think there needs to be more salt to enhance the natural deliciousness of the vegetables.
On the other hand, my friend got a more substantial meal of seared kangaroo dish. It is definitely more pricey ($ 29). I also had some of my friend's hand cut chips. It tasted really good! It also came with a creamy dipping sauce.
Something you readers should know about me is that I am a super duper healthy eater, and you can probably deduce from my choice of the dishes. I originally ordered mixed leaf salad but the waiter, funnily enough, told me it is bland. I appreciate her honesty and desire to cater me the best meal but she shouldn't degrade the menu like that (?).
Overall an awesome experience. I really really loved the view of the beautiful blue ocean and white sand, and the food as a whole is really delicious and fresh.
